An ethics complaint filed against the Fayette County Board of Realtors and Fayette Citizens for Continued Excellence in Education was dismissed Friday by the state Ethics Commission.

The complaint was lodged by Fayette County resident Bill Webster regarding alleged improprieties during the campaign for a one cent special purpose local option sales tax in September.

He questioned FCEE failure to report the full value of newspaper advertising during the SPLOST campaign, an in-kind donation for pamphlet printing, failure to list name and title of the principle officer, and failure to disclose coordinated efforts in the use of graphics for campaign signs.

The complaint against the Board of Realtors involved the printing of signs for the SPLOST campaign.

Following testimony, the ethics commission voted to throw out the charges.
