Tyrone is seeking nominations for Citizen of the Year

The Tyrone Founders Day Committee is seeking nominations for the 2000 Citizen of the Year and Senior Citizen of the Year.

Each year, the committee recognizes an individual in each category who, through personal efforts, has displayed extraordinary service and leadership skills in the quality of life in Tyrone by promoting a sense of civic pride.

Senior citizen nominations are open to residents 55 and older.

To nominate an individual, you should:

List the name and address of the candidate.

List each specific accomplishment.

Tell how the accomplishment was unusual and tell how much time was spent on it.

Explain if other people were inspired or motivated by this person's actions.

Tell what the results of the accomplishments were.

Write out your responses and mail to:

Deadlines for applications are Aug. 31.
