Trio arrested on
shoplifting, alcohol charges By

A
shoplifting incident in Fayetteville Friday night
resulted in the arrest of three local teenagers.
According
to reports, police were dispatched to the T.J.
Maxx store in the Fayette Pavilion around 8 p.m.
Friday and arrested Frederick Duncan Cohran, 18,
of Fayetteville for shoplifting. He allegedly
took two men's shirts and two pair of jeans worth
a total of $76.
Also
arrested were Anthony D. Nelson, 18, and Joshua
Timothy Rex, 17, both of Fayetteville, for
possession of alcohol by a minor.
In
an unrelated incident, a traffic stop Thursday
morning uncovered marijuana and led to another
arrest.
Police
took Marco Adam Elwer, 21, of Palmetto into
custody after stopping his car at about 9 a.m.
Thursday at the intersection of Lester Road and
Old Norton Road. He was charged with speeding, no
insurance and possession of less than one ounce
of marijuana, reports indicated.
A
passenger in the car, Kevin David Paul, 21, of
Palmetto, also was charged with possession of
less than one ounce of marijuana.
An
unrelated traffic stop in the wee hours of Friday
morning produced a suspect sought on an
outstanding Fayette County warrant.
According
to reports, police stopped a car on Lester Road
near the southern city limits just after midnight
and found that the driver, Justin Paul Timothy
Moore, had an active warrant for simple battery.
Moore, 19, is a U.S. Marine and his residence was
listed as Camp Lejeune, N.C.
A
passenger took control of the car, while Moore
was transported to Fayette County Jail.
