The Master Gardeners offer classes on Saturdays at the Home Depot in Fayetteville. The group is just getting back into the swing of things as the spring season heads for full bloom. Master Gardener Geni Smith will teach a class on topiaries this Saturday, April 15. Smith will show the class how to use ivy, climbing plant and vines when creating topiaries as well as how to braid ficus trees. The class will begin at 11 a.m. The following Saturday will be a day for everyone to celebrate Earth Day. There will be a number of classes that will help your garden as well as your planet, such as classes on organic gardening, composting, good bugs and bad bugs and how to use insecticides and fungicides. Classes will begin at 9 a.m. April 22 and there will be free hot dogs and cokes at noon. Major vendors will be on hand to talk about how to use their products and some will have samples to give away. There will be a drawing at 4 p.m. for a free gas grill.
