Offshoot to hold acting classes for all ages this May

Three workshops designed for different age groups will be offered by Offshoot Productions at the Peachtree City Library this spring.

The first workshop, "More Comic Improv," is designed for adults and teens aged 15 and older. The workshop focuses on acting for an audience without a script. While the session is open to newcomers, participants who have taken previous comic improv workshops from Offshoot will be able to expand their techniques. The workshop is scheduled for Sunday, May 7, from 2 to 5 p.m. The cost is $20.

The second workshop, "The Actor's Instruments: Voice and Movement for the Stage," will be held on Saturday, May 13, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Geared to children ages 10 to 14, the session includes exercises and scene work to help young actors make the most of their natural abilities. The registration fee for "The Actor's Instruments" is also $20.

The third workshop, "Stage Basics for the Young Performer," is for children ages six through nine, and utilizes creative dramatics, theatre games and simple scenes. The workshop takes place on Sunday, May 21, from

2-4 p.m. and costs $14.

The Peachtree City Library is located at 201 Willowbend Road. For registration forms or information, call Offshoot at (770) 631-2362 or e-mail to offshootpr@aol.com.
