All
four judges in the Griffin Judicial Circuit have
recused themselves from attorney James Webb's
libel suit against The Citizen.
The
standard practice of Superior Court judges in the
Griffin Judicial Circuit is to recuse themselves
from cases which involve attorneys practicing in
the circuit, stated the order filed March
15 in Fayette County Superior Court. All
plaintiffs in this action are in good standing
with the Georgia Bar Association, and practice
law within the Griffin Judicial Circuit.
Superior
Court Clerk Bud Ballard said Tuesday that the
court administrator for the circuit would be
charged with taking the necessary steps to have
another judge assigned to the case.
