Braelinn
Elementary School knows how to put the fun in
fund-raising.
A
collective effort of about 150 parent volunteers
will transform the school into a game-filled
mecca for children Saturday, March 25.
Braelinn's
annual family fun night, billed Reach for
the Stars is being sponsored by Outback
Steakhouse. The event, which starts at 4 p.m. and
wraps up about 7:30 p.m., will feature a silent
and live auction, steak dinner and student
entertainment.
Fun
Night organizer Tane Wilson and parent volunteers
Terri Shull, Julie Taylor and Lila Parry were
busy assembling programs Monday, listing dozens
of items slated for the silent and live auctions.
Some
of the more unusual items to be offered at the
live auction include two bedtime stories with Dr.
Bob Martin, Braelinn's principal, a limo lunch
with Dr. Bob, an autographed baseball by New York
Yankees pitcher Tino Martinez and a guitar and
amplifier with accessories.
Last
year's fun night benefit netted the school
$17,000. Plans for this year's donations include
sound system improvements, additional playground
improvements and purchase of a marquee sign for
the front of the school.
