Deadline looming to apply for chamber scholarship

The Education Committee of the Newnan-Coweta Chamber of Commerce is accepting applications for the fourth annual Making a Difference scholarship program.

The chamber will award four scholarships of $1,000 each to residents of Coweta County or students attending school in the county.

The program was developed to recognize members of the community who have made exceptional contributions to the betterment of Coweta County and who wish to further their educations.

Scholarship applicants must submit one-page essays entitled “Making a Difference,” which should address how the students have made a difference in their schools or communities and how the receipt of the scholarship will help make a difference in the students achieving their goals.

After an initial screening of the applications, the finalists will be interviewed by members of the chamber's Education Committee and recipients selected. Deadline for applications is March 29.

For information, phone the Newnan-Coweta Chamber of Commerce at 770-253-2270.
