The Town of Brooks has a new council person.

Sworn in for the Post 4 seat, C. W. Howle ran unopposed in a special called election.

The post had been held for eight years by Jimmy Lindsay, who chose not to run for the office again.

Howle, sworn in by State Court Judge Fletcher Sams, is a native of Texas, and came to the town of Brooks in 1991. He is the project manager for the Jameson Hotel Group.

He had previously served as planning and zoning administrator for Brooks.

Howle and wife, Carla, are the parents of three grown children.
