Noted satirist to speak for Sams School

Bestselling Atlanta author Robert L. Steed will address the 2000 Kick-Off Dinner for the Joseph Sams School April 10 at Whitewater Country Club.

Steed is a partner in the law firm of King and Spalding in Atlanta and the author of numerous works including “Money, Power and Sex - a Self-Help Guide for All Ages” and “The Sass Menagerie.” His latest book, “A ship Without an Udder,” was published in 1995.

Known for his sharp wit and satirical look at the predicaments that plague modern society, Steed, as a practicing attorney, once claimed, “My other partners refer to me as half-lawyer, half-wit.”

Married for 42 years and the father of three grown children, Steed is a longtime supporter of the Joseph Sams School, on Brandywine Road in Fayetteville, the only private school for children with disabilities in the state.

The 2000 Kick-Off Dinner is by invitation only. The evening starts at 6:30 p.m. and includes cocktails, h'ors doevres and dinner. Interested parties may call Janet Smola at 770-461-5894.
