Hollingsworth project
nearing completion City leaders
spent Friday morning putting the original stained
glass windows back into Fayetteville's historic
Hollingsworth House as work to restore the house
as a meeting place and community center nears
completion.
City
Councilman Al Hovey-King, chairman of the Main
Street Committee, said those involved in the
project hope to have it ready for use by the
public within two or three weeks.
Demand
is already heavy for the space, he added.
Numerous residents already are lining up to use
the house for receptions, weddings, meetings,
parties and the like.
Main
Street Fayetteville, the city's downtown
revitalization organization, rescued the historic
home from the bulldozer and has been working to
restore it for over a year.
