Churches from the south metro area, including Peachtree City, Tyrone and Fayetteville, will come together Sunday, March 5 at 6 p.m. for a unity service at Atlanta City Church in Fairburn. By far, this will be the largest and most widely represented unity service since such things began four years ago, said the Rev. Dr. John Hatcher, chairman of the South Metro Ministers Council. The service will manifest the great diversity in the Christian church, while making a statement of the unity we enjoy in Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord, Hatcher added. The Rev. Rick Snow, pastor of Atlanta City Church, will give the welcome, followed by a prayer led by the Rev. T.W. Snyder. Key speaker for the evening service is the Rev. Carter Shultz, pastor of Southern Crescent Church of Christ in Tyrone. An offering designated for the upcoming National Day of Prayer will be collected by the Rev. Steve Bingham, pastor of First Baptist Church in Peachtree City. A combined children's choir will sing during the service and the drama team from River's Edge Community Church will perform. For information, phone Hatcher at 770-719-0303.
