Fayetteville's dining options are about to increase again.

The city Planning Commission has approved a development plan for Ruby Tuesday, to occupy nine tenths of an acre at the southeast corner of Uptown Square, the Barnes and Noble shopping center under construction across from Fayette Pavilion.

The restaurant will serve an eclectic menu of meats, seafood, vegetables and salads.

The Planning Commission also approved revised elevations for an additional story in First Baptist Church's plans for an addition to the church.

The group also voted to allow Jeff Davis Apartments to build a small office building so the current office space could be used for tenants.

Communications towers must be measured from the natural ground, according to an amendment to Fayette County's law governing the towers, approved Thursday by the County Commission.

Under the previous wording of the law, a tower builder sued the county after its request for a tower permit was rejected. The company wanted approval for more height for the tower by building an artificial hill setting the tower on top.

, A new after-hours emergency clinic for Fayette's pets is coming soon to Ga. Highway 54 east of Fayetteville.

County Commission unanimously approved rezoning for the animal emergency clinic after more than 50 local residents showed up to support the request. The clinic, to be staffed nights and weekends, will be on 1.57 acres near Banks Road.
