The Frederick Brown Jr. Amphitheater announced its sponsor lineup last week, and the lineup of artists for the 2000 Summer Concert Series was to be announced today.

The law firm of Webb, Stuckey and Lindsey, with offices in Peachtree City, Fairburn and Atlanta, will be the title sponsor for the season.

Diamond level sponsors are Coca-Cola and Merrill-Lynch. Media partners are the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and Magic 96.7 FM.

Gold level sponsors include Group VI Corporation, the Wyndham Peachtree Conference Center, Lawson Mardon Packaging, Yahama and Golf Car Sales. New gold sponsors are Talbot State Bank and CDH & Affiliates.

Silver level sponsors are Execusoft Controls/PeachCity, Kroger, Kwik Kopy Printing, Cooper Lighting, The Complete Insurance Source, Sprint PCS and the Peachtree City Tennis Center. New silver sponsors are Mucklow's Jewelry, Arnie's Fine Wine Liquor and Beer, Goody Products, Photocircuits, Peachtree Florist, ERA Preferred Realty and SMC3.

“Our sponsors are such an important part of what we do at the Amphitheater; their support is invaluable,” said amphitheater director Kristi Rapson. “I encourage the community to recognize and support these businesses and corporations for their commitment to our community.”

The 14 total silver level sponsors make up the most the facility can handle. The limit was originally 12, but that was raised due to the response.

Rapson reported at Monday's regular monthly meeting of the Development Authority of Peachtree City that this year's overall sponsorship picture reflects a decrease in trade sponsors and an increase in cash sponsors.

“It's great to see this kind of interest,” she said, noting that several sponsors called the amphitheater first without any solicitation efforts needed. “These businesses want to get directly involved with the people [at concerts].”

On the construction front, work on the spotlight towers has almost been completed, Rapson said, and the sound booth renovations are also progressing well. A total of four spotlights will be available this season with the addition of two spotlight wells. The sound booth, moved to the center of the arena last year, will be more permanent.

By the time the season opens, amphitheater patrons will notice a changed entrance to the concession stand and a rerouted concession line, so that customers are not facing the audience when they order refreshments. Both the box office and concession stands will have heat and air conditioning.

The amphitheater management will be linking up a computer and printer at the site with the main computers in the offices at the recreation administration building, which will greatly simplify the ticket process for each show.
