A community roundtable to discuss school facilities is scheduled for tonight at 7 p.m. at the LaFayette Education Complex.

Mike Satterfield, Fayette County Schools' director of facilities and services, and Jerry Whitaker, the school district's vocational coordinator and land acquisition and facility planner, will lead the discussion.

Facilities have been a sore subject in recent years, as school officials twice have failed to convince Fayette voters to approve sales taxes for school construction and improvement projects.

Persons with professional expertise in planning, architecture and construction are invited to find out how they can serve on a consulting board that is forming.
