AFCG attacks traffic
problems The Association of Fayette
County Governments has appointed a subcommittee
to study transportation problems in the county
with an eye toward pushing for faster funding for
some future traffic improvement projects.
The
group will present its recommendations to the
full AFCG, which will pass them along to the
Georgia Department of Transportation for use in
assigning priorities for funding.
Local
officials are anxious to get several local
projects, such as a proposed north-south bypass
around Fayetteville, moved higher on DOT's list.
In
other business in its quarterly meeting, AFCG
named Fayetteville Councilman Larry Dell its
chairman and County Commissioner Herb Frady its
vice chairman for 2000.
