Fayette County Association of Educators will host the annual Fayette County Spelling Bee Tuesday, Feb. 1 at 4 p.m. in local schools.

Representatives from each elementary and middle school will compete for the county title. The winner will go on to compete at the district level in Carrolton March 4.

Winner of the distict meet will participate in the state bee March 24 in Atlanta.

Beautiful Additions in Fayetteville has volunteered as a drop-off point for wedding gowns donated to the Making Memories Breast Cancer Foundation. The organization is dedicated to providing those with metestatic breast cancer a chance to make a memory or fulfill a wish or dream for themselves and their families.

To raise money, the group will sponsor a nationwide sale of donated wedding gowns. The donation is tax deductible and the money raised will be used to grant wishes, fulfill dreams and help make memories for families before their loved ones are taken from them. The gown collection program will run through March 1.

Anyone interested in donating a gown should contact Carla Gober at Beautiful Additions, 125 Commerce Drive suite J, Fayetteville, or phone for instructions and drop off times.
