If you listen very closely, you can hear the rumbling already.

The rumbling comes from the stomachs of all the people eagerly awaiting the Kiwanis Club of Peachtree City's annual Pancake Saturday.

This festival of flapjacks continues to grow each year, thrilling participants with pancake eating contests, live entertainment, face painting, exhibits and all the pancakes and sausage that you can eat. The festivities will be at McIntosh High School, beginning bright and early for breakfast at 7 a.m.

One of the first activities on Pancake Saturday will be the Corporate Challenge. Representatives from area businesses and churches will face off in a pancake eating contest. This year's corporate challenge has a very special guest, president of Continuous Forms and Checks and mayor of Peachtree City, Bob Lenox.

The regular pancake eating contest will begin at 10 a.m.

There will be activities going on for the duration of Pancake Saturday, including a live broadcast from Magic 96.7 FM, performances by the Peachtree City Fire Department clowns, barber shop quartets, a performance by Music Machine, face painting, helium balloons and the Fayette County SafeKids Coalition will be on hand.

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased from any Kiwanian, McIntosh and Starr's Mill High School Key Club or Boy Scout Troop 181 member, and at T. Buggs, Atlanta Market Finds, Rona's Florist and both Great Frame Ups.

Tickets are $3 in advance and $4 at the door. Pancake Saturday will last 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Needless to say, that's a lot of pancakes.
