Jesse Brooks, named Peachtree City Employee of the Year for 1999, and Wayne O'Neal, chosen as Supervisor of the Year, were honored last week by the City Council at its regular meeting. Brooks has served as a mechanic in the Public Works Department's automotive shop since May 1995, and was Employee of the Month last September. A member of the Peachtree City Police Department nominated Brooks for recognition for his conscientiousness and dedication in getting the officer's patrol car back into service, a written statement from the city said. Lenox commented at the meeting that Brooks stayed well after his shift was completed to do so. Other officers also have voiced their respect and appreciation for Brooks, and he has been noted by his supervisors as an employee who is always willing to help and go beyond what is expected, according to the city. O'Neal is supervisor of the cart path and public assistance crew for the Public Works Department, a position he has held for three years. He was named Supervisor of the Quarter for fall 1999. O'Neal is known among his crew as one who consistently shows honesty, fairness and integrity, and is always ready and willing to help with any problems, according to a statement from the city. He sets a strong example for the crew, readily taking on any necessary task, and the crew felt Wayne should be recognized and honored for his experience and the respect he has earned. Both men were initially recognized at the city's annual employee Christmas luncheon in December.
