builders celebrate new members at recent meeting The Home
Builders Association of Midwest Georgia
celebrated Membership and observed
Spike Appreciation Night at its
October meeting, held at the Atlanta Motor
Speedway in Hampton.
Members of the
association's Spike Club, composed of association
members who have successfully recruited new
members, were recognized and presented with
tokens of appreciation. Special Spike awards went
to Marcella Waddy, 150 level; Bob Barnard and
Richard Simms, 75 level; Brian Jackson, Dennis
Floyd, Greg Harrell, Randy Hayes, Carl Owen and
Buford (Thomas) Chandler, Life Spike - 25 level;
and Doris Ford, official Spike, 5 level.
Attendees at the
gathering were given the opportunity to ride in a
Pace Car. The meeting was held at Atlanta Motor
Speedway in conjunction with the association's
Membership Drive, Mid West Builder
500 (racing theme) as the HBA Midwest
Georgia works to reach membership levels of 500
by the year 2000.
The association was
successful in recruiting 32 new members during
the three months of the membership drive. Chase
Manhattan Mortgage, First Citizens Bank and
Tucker Federal Mortgage, the current members of
the association's Underwriters Club, were
recognized at the meeting.
Members of the
Underwriters Club assist with the cost of dinner
meeting programs and receive recognition at all
Home Builders Association of Midwest Georgia
functions for the entire year. Corporate sponsors
for the gathering were Leeds Building Products
and The Concrete Company. The Home Builders
Association of Midwest Georgia, which serves
builders in Fayette, Coweta, Spalding, Heard and
Meriwether Counties, currently has around - more
