Wilson Traditional Homes looks to Charleston for latest design inspiration

Wilson Traditional Homes Inc. announces that the company is now building the “Thomaston,” the latest addition to its line of “historical plans for finer living.”

Ken Wilson, owner and president of the Fayetteville-based firm, said that the “Thomaston” is being built in WhiteWater Creek Community and The Woodlands in Fayette County, Eagle's Landing in Henry County, Smoke Rise in Peachtree City, and the Lake Spivey area of Clayton County.

The base price of the “Thomaston,” which contains 5,290 square feet of living space, is in the high $600,000s. The overall design vernacular is based on the historical style of architecture found in coastal Charleston. It is a Colonial Georgian architectural design dating from the 1780 to 1900 period.

This four-bedroom, three and one-half bath home, which also has a bonus room, is a spacious design which includes a covered rear deck, sun room and three-car garage. The master bedroom suite contains a study, office, master bathroom with large whirlpool tub, shower with double heads, and marble counter tops.

Prominent among the other numerous special features of the home are Corian counter tops in the kitchen. Depending upon the home site, some of the “Thomaston” designs have large basements, while others have a 900-sq. ft. carriage house instead of a basement.

For information about the “Thomaston” or any of the other historical plans available, phone Wilson Traditional Homes Inc. at 770-461-6165.

Ken Wilson has been in the home building business since 1982 and has operated Wilson Traditional Homes Inc. since 1987.

A residential design/build firm, Wilson has most recently been active in the Lake Spivey area of Clayton County; the Woodlands, Royal Ridge, White Water Creek and Kingswood in Fayetteville; White Oak Country Club in Coweta County; Smoke Rise and Stoneybrook Plantation in Peachtree City; Eagle's Landing in Henry County; and several individual lot locations all around the Southern Crescent of Atlanta.

The company also has built in the Griffin Country Club in Spalding County. The company handles home construction from the concept stage, drawing the plans and managing the construction, and remains in the picture through the closing and customer service work. Wilson is a former president of the Home Builders Association of Midwest Georgia, and his company has participated in past tours of homes in Fayette County.
